PostSubject: Help choosing a new anime   Wed Sep 12, 2007 6:24 pm

I no there are probably alot of these threads but im making a seperate one Smile

soo...Does anyone know any similar anime's to Full metal panic? ( any of the 3 series)

I would like your own personal oppions if possible because websites with genre searches usualy lead me astray silent they are usualy just romantic or destroying everything and never in the middle like i want it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

If you're looking for a Mecha, you should try Eureka 7. It's a mecha show, with a touch of romance, and is really funny, yet manages to bring across a great messsage.

Here's a sinopsis of the first episode:

A 14 boy (Renton Thurston) lives in a world where "reffing, or lifting" (riding air waves, you could say) is the only thing interesting in his life. School is boring, and nothing exciting happens in his little hometown. An LFO (Light Finding Operation) crashes onto his house, and a beautiful girl steps out and asks for repairs. Somehow, Renton manages to get caught up with a gang of militant "rogues" called Gekko-State.

This is my favorite anime I've seen to date.

Bleach and Naruto are not even close to FMP.
Anyhow, the recomendation depends on which line of FMP did you like the best.
If you liked the first part, then you probably enjoyed the comedy mostly, then I would recommend School Rumble as well. If you liked the second raid better which is darker and more serious, then I would recommend Eureka Seven or Black Lagoon.
If you liked the mecha, then I would say pick a flavor of Gundam.
gundam MS IGLOO it is a good 3 episodes OVA to give you a feeling of the setting of Gundam. The main series do have more storyline since they can be 50+ episodes.
FMP is a thought one to surpass in how it achieves the balance. The closest one balance wise would be Eureka Seven, though it is not the same setting. My preffered genre is comedy, and after school Rumble I would say FMP comes next, and I have watched a lot of anime
